Glove Box: When a Separate Atmosphere is Desired
Commissioned by Fermynwoods Contemporary Art as part of the Ways of Knowing exhibition at Brixworth Country Park, Glovebox: When A Separate Atmosphere Is Desired is an inverted protective suit, installed at a viewing point overlooking the park’s lake. Through the installation, visitors are only able to view the natural world by engaging with the suit, which functions as both barrier and shield, encouraging us to rethink the relationship between the external and internal, enclosure and exposure, safety and hazard.
